Chief Advisor & Coordinator

Prof. Gopi Upreti taught at Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences (IAAS), Tribhuvan University for three decades (30 years). IAAS became Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) in 2010. Dr. Upreti served in various positions (Coordinator of graduate programs, Campus Chief, Chair of the Department of Horticulture, Chair of the Department of Agriculture Statistics). He also served as the Chief Commissioner of Nepal Agriculture Research Council (NARC). Dr. Upreti was the founder principal of National Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS), Boudha, Jorpati, Kathmandu Nepal.  He has written books in Agriculture and Water Resource Development in Nepal. He has published dozens of research articles on Agriculture, Environment and Sustainable Development in national and international referred journals.

Professor Upreti is the recipient of the Best Paper Award on his paper entitled “Environmental Conservation and Sustainable Development Require a New Approach” published in the Journal of Environmental Conservation, Vol. 21(18-29) in 1995 by Switzerland based International Foundation of Environmental Conservation.

Prof. Upreti is the founder president of the Humanist Association of Nepal (HUMAN) and an active member of International Humanist Movement. He is the member of New York based International Council of Secular Humanism and a life member of American Humanist Association (AHA) and the advisor of Virginia based Rationalist Society of America.  Prof. Upreti served in the editorial advisory board of The New Encyclopedia of Unbelief published by Prometheus Books, New York. He was the editor in-chief of the English magazine Humanist Voice published from Kathmandu, Nepal.

Professor Upreti joined Equality Foundation in 2015 and has been serving as the Chief Advisor of the Foundation ever since. 

Currently, Prof. Upreti is the Senior Data Scientist at ManTech International Corporation. He is involved in modelling and development of machine learning algorithms.
